recipes, home, garden, beauty, health, fashion, dating, parenting, seniors, finance, business, hair care, skin care, advice, real estate, insurance,
weddings etc. Each issue has a feature section as well. Many of our articles are written by local business people who provide information
relevant to their business expertise. The Applaud Women website is also a resource center for local women including the most comprehensive
listings of Restaurants, Weddings, Female doctors and Hotels. It also includes a number of informational pages with links, articles and RSS feeds

CC Carole - The Huntress
By Emily Pietro
After speaking with her for only a few minutes, it’s impossible not to notice how truly inspirational CC Carole is. Not only has she managed to
reinvent herself many times over the course of her life, she has done so with grace and an apparent ease that makes one wonder if there is
anything she can’t do.

CC’s professional background is anything but typical. She started her string of distinctive careers as a police officer in Lawrence, Massachusetts
after completing her training at the New England Police Institute in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. After dedicating years of her life to law
enforcement, CC worked in rodeo as a stunt rider. CC found that her true calling, however, was in the entertainment industry.

“I would watch local television and say to myself, ‘Oh, I can do this better,’ or I’d see what other people were doing and come up with a new and
different approach to make it more interesting. So, I started going to local cable stations pursuing my own show,” says CC.

Trying to acclimate herself to New Hampshire, CC created, “The Everything Show,” and just as its name promises, it was about everything.
Subjects covered included highlighting local businesses, interviewing local authors, reviewing products, and what turned out to be the main event
for CC, a segment on ghost stories of New England. The segment was such a hit and a viewer favorite that this inspired CC to turn her ghost
hunts into its own show and to title that show after her new identity, “CC the Huntress.”

Her show is now one of the highest rated on the Paranormal Television Network, and CC credits the ratings to her unique style of hunting. “I use
history, science and spirituality all mixed in with the paranormal, so it’s not like any other ghost hunting show. I explain the history of the location,
use scientific equipment to detect levels of energy, and I use Reiki, a Japanese loving healing art, to heal the spirits and release them from their
torment. Then I go back in with my equipment to check to see if the levels have changed. If they have, I’ve done my job. That’s success for me.”

CC bases her scientific knowledge in the theory of relativity, which states that everything in the universe is made of energy. When we die, CC
says, our energy remains and leaves an electromagnetic force. The fluctuations in these energy levels and electromagnetic forces are what CC
looks for when hunting for spirits. “If you can get an electromagnetic force to work on command, then you know you have an intelligent force that
can answer questions, can make an object move, and can be captured on film or still photography. This is what I look for.”

CC believes that as humans, we should not be afraid of the dead, and feels that the living actually have much more power to create harm. She
also attributes people’s fears of the paranormal to Hollywood. “Hollywood sometimes plays on fears from our childhood. Everyone is afraid of the
dark, and they use this to create fear. It’s important for to me to distinguish my show from other similar shows. The Huntress is based on facts: I
look at history, I apply science, I apply my spiritual aspect, and then I go back to science. I want to teach people how to deal with the spirit world –
we are ALL going to die. I want people to get a better sense of what’s on the other side of life, and for them to know that their relatives are safe
and at peace. I utilize real tools and techniques. I never pretend – everything I do, is real.”

According to CC, everyone has the ability to make contact with the spirit world. Some have life changing experiences that open up these
doorways, and others, like her, were simply born with these abilities. Growing up CC would often accurately predict deaths, which she says
caused people to think of her as a ‘freak’. CC being CC, she would not let a little thing like name calling stop her. She says her grandmother
always told her that she had a gift, and she should use it. Her grandmother was right.

CC is often compared to Elvira which she finds flattering because she considers Elvira to be a role model. On this frequent comparison, CC says,
“Never mind the makeup and the clothes, she is a beautiful woman. She is highly intelligent, she’s a go-getter, she’s extremely creative, and I just
really admire her and everything she’s done. When you admire someone, the best form of complimenting them is a little emulation, and I try to do
that.” CC has given her show a bit of feminine style, and people have noticed this, sometimes calling her the sexiest ghost hunter on television.

In her true style of caring about others, CC credits her family with being her support system, particularly her husband and her children. She says
her husband wasn’t a believer initially, but after accompanying CC on her investigatory journeys, he has discovered that he has a gift for sensing
the paranormal as well.  She also says that her oldest son has been beyond helpful in helping her with video editing, and live streaming while
filming her show. Her children also took all of the photos in her new book called “Haunted Merrimack Valley,” which will be in bookstores in
October 2009.

Has she ultimately met success in this life- and career-transition? “Yes, I think I have,” says CC. “Success to me is healing those who need to be
healed, and I have done this for both the dead and the living. It’s extremely rewarding.”
