The Applaud Women publication is dedicated to women in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. It's purpose is to inspire, inform, and
applaud local women. The core of the magazine is our inspirational women's articles, most of which feature local women but occasionally we are
able to interview national women who we feel provide a unique inspiration for our readers. Our other articles cover topics of interest such as food
recipes, home, garden, beauty, health, fashion, dating, parenting, seniors, finance, business, hair care, skin care, advice, real estate, insurance,
weddings etc. Each issue has a feature section as well. Many of our articles are written by local business people who provide information
relevant to their business expertise. The Applaud Women website is also a resource center for local women including the most comprehensive
listings of Restaurants, Weddings, Female doctors and Hotels. It also includes a number of informational pages with links, articles and RSS feeds
to both local and national websites of interest to women in NH & n. MA.

Hot Hair Trends for Fall
By Emily Pietro
After researching the hottest hairstyle trends for fall 2009 and not arriving at a conclusively definitive cut that's so “in” it can't be ignored, the only
word that fits this season is extreme. This fall, anything, and we mean anything, goes as long as it's all-or-nothing. The lengths range from a short
pixie to a long, flowing mane, and colors reach all ends of the spectrum from peroxide blonde to the deepest chocolate brown. The question
remains – with so many options, which is the right one? To put it simply, low maintenance, true-to-you styles are clearly the best option.

As busy women, very few of us have over an hour to spend on our tresses each day, fussing over every tiny detail. Luckily, the flexibility of the
trends this season put time-constraints in our favor. Both wavy and straight styles are in, slicked back and let loose, tamed and crazy...it all works.
This shouldn't leave us feeling without guidance, but rather without boundaries. However, if you are looking for definitive guidelines when deciding
what to do with your hair this season, there are some looks that are all over Hollywood that can easily carry over into everyday life.

The lengths of cuts this season are all over the board. If you like your hair short, the pixie cut is a style that doesn't require daily styling
maintenance, but it does require consistent trimming in order to retain its bold look. If your hair is anywhere between chin- and shoulder-length,
the bob is a chic look that can work anywhere from the office to a night out on the town. For those of us who like to have a lot to play with, long,
luscious hair is just as in. For every length, bangs are still in style, but the feathered, side-swept look is more youthful and soft than blunt, straight
bangs.

If you're looking for a new color, keep in mind the season and go for deep hues that can take you into the winter. Versatile colors that are hot this
season include autumnal tones like deep blondes, chocolate browns, chestnuts, and deep reds. Of course, if you're feeling daring, peroxide
blonde is on the list as well.

Styles this Fall are all over the map, so there's no need to choose one and stick with it. Looks range from shiny and straight to thick, loose waves.
If you are searching for an up-do, the chignon bun positioned at the nape of the neck has made a comeback, and the ponytail has returned with
a vengeance but updated – try pairing it with a french braid at the hairline as often sported by Lauren Conrad.

Whatever your choice, keep it low maintenance and work with what nature has given you. Nobody wants to spend hours a day in a bathroom
fighting with heat-styling tools only to have their efforts slighted by an unforeseen downpour. Flaunt what you were born with and your confidence
will shine through.
