Spring is finally here! It's time to ditch the thick sweaters, insulated snow boots, long coats, gloves, and hats, and we all know what no more hats means – no more hat hair and an excuse to try a new hairstyle!
If you are looking to try a new hair color, spring is a great season to do it. The hottest color trends for this season are lighter than usual with hints of red. Various shades of brown always look great, and light browns are especially flattering. Try colors such as cinnamon, chestnut, maple, chocolate, or even light brown with a hint of strawberry. Of course, as always, make sure your hair color choice will compliment your skin's undertones. Cool tones should stick to ashy colors, warm tones work best with golden colors, and neutrals look great on everyone. Think bright and cheery colors that are rich, bold, and shiny. To add shine, ask your stylist for a glaze treatment, or try a shine-enhancing shampoo like Pantene Ice Shine.
The hairstyles that are popular for this season are incredibly easy both to create and maintain, and who doesn't love that? The biggest trend is volume – the more, the better! To add more volume to your hair, try volumizing products or holding hair taut on a round brush straight up while blow-drying. Creating loose curls are another great way to enhance volume and looks great on almost everyone.
Pulling back the hair into different styles is another trend that's big for spring. Try a loose side braid, different kinds of buns, or a teased ponytail. Bangs are still all over the runways, but they are more blunt as opposed to long and side-swept. If you are trying to grow out your bangs, try pulling them back and creating a small poof to get them out of your face and for a little extra style.
Accessorizing updos is a fun and easy way to add some flair to an everyday style. Try headbands – both plain and with fun decorations, like flowers, bows or rhinestones – or even try adding jeweled hair combs. For a fun project, glue silk flowers to bobby pins and secure them at the nape of your neck with a low ponytail for a hint of glamour.
