On Friday, June 12, Women in Film, Los Angeles held its annual Crystal and
Lucy Awards Gala at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in LA. This year's award
recipients included Jennifer Aniston for Excellence in Film; Holly Hunter for
Excellence in Television; Elizabeth Banks as MaxMara Face of the Future;
Catherine Hardwicke for The Dorothy Arzner Directors Award; and Petra Korner
for The Kodak Vision Award.

Jennifer Aniston looked stunning in a strapless silver dress.  Aniston was
honored with the 2009 Crystal Award. The Crystal Awards were established in
1977 to honor outstanding women who have helped to expand the role of
women within the entertainment industry.

During her acceptance speech, Aniston, having recently split with John Mayer,
equated her movie titles with her love life starting with The Good Girl, then
Rumor Has It, Derailed, and finally The Break-Up. She joked, "If anyone has a
movie called Everlasting Love with an Adult Stable Man... I'm at table six, and my
agents are at table 12."

Holly Hunter accepted the Lucy Award, named after Lucille Ball, which was
created to honor those whose excellence and innovation have enhanced the
perception of women through the medium of television.

Director and writer, Catherine Hardwicke, was awarded the Dorothy Arzner
Directors Award, named for the first female member of the Directors Guild of
America. Hardwicke directed the recent mega-hit, Twilight, adapted from
Stephanie Meyer's novel. She also has written Twilight: The Director's Notebook
showcasing her personal behind-the-scenes photos and experiences directing
the film.
