Kissing Monsters with Cindy Ashton
by Lindsey Graham
Do you have fears in your life that are stopping you from achieving the success you deserve?  If you do, then what can you do about them?

Cindy Ashton refers to these fears as monsters and in her book entitled Kiss Your Monsters Goodbye she teaches her readers how to overcome their obstacles
so that they can conquer their dreams and desires as they make authentic change
.
Being born with a heart problem called coarctation of the aorta and given only a twenty percent chance of surviving, Cindy was taught at a very early age how to face
obstacles.  “During my second heart surgery at the age of five, I literally flat-lined and was brought back from death,” she tells Applaud in an interview.

With the issues her body had, many limitations were put upon her—she was told she couldn’t do much physical activity or be involved in anything stressful, such
as taking advanced classes or attending college.

But Cindy did not believe in limitations: she went to school, was in a professional dance company and then graduated York University with double Honors
Bachelor’s degrees in Music and Kinesiology.

She says she refused to be a victim.  By visualizing her body as healthy, happy, free and flowing she was able to not only reach her goals of becoming a singer,
dancer and actor, but was also able to become an inspiration to others who are empowered by her story and teachings.
Her book was written as candidly as she talks—honesty pours into every detail.  Through that openness she shows her readers that by learning what their inner
negative thoughts and patterns are through self-awareness, they have the ability to transform their lives and propel long-term change.
By remembering the unconditional love she felt when she experienced the Other Side, she confesses that she struggled with having suicidal thoughts as a
teenager because she did not have that feeling in life.  She later learned that people could create that unconditional love on earth by finding the courage needed
within themselves and she encourages her readers to be willing to open themselves up so that they can achieve anything through that power.
Cindy does not just reveal how to get what you want in life—she demonstrates how to be a good receiver so that you can get more.  “Many people sabotage their
own success,” Cindy says.  “They don’t know how to receive the good that is coming into their lives and that behavior eliminates the chance to receive more gifts.”

She says that it is important to appreciate every little thing because it helps people to stop complaining and to be grateful in the present moment.  In order to find
joy quickly she suggests in her book to make lists of your successes and what you are grateful for. “Once you’re in a positive space, you will start to attract good
things into your life,” Cindy advises.

She tells Applaud that if she is having a stressful day, she first acknowledges it and then may find herself putting good music on and dancing around her house in
order to release any negativity and put herself in a positive mood again.
