The Applaud Women publication is dedicated to women in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. It's purpose is to inspire, inform, and
applaud local women. The core of the magazine is our inspirational women's articles, most of which feature local women but occasionally we are
able to interview national women who we feel provide a unique inspiration for our readers. Our other articles cover topics of interest such as food
recipes, home, garden, beauty, health, fashion, dating, parenting, seniors, finance, business, hair care, skin care, advice, real estate, insurance,
weddings etc. Each issue has a feature section as well. Many of our articles are written by local business people who provide information
relevant to their business expertise. The Applaud Women website is also a resource center for local women including the most comprehensive
listings of Restaurants, Weddings, Female doctors and Hotels. It also includes a number of informational pages with links, articles and RSS feeds
to both local and national websites of interest to women in NH & n. MA.

Makeup is Rockin' and Regal this Fall! By Kriss Soterion

Fall is a fun time for beauty and fashion transition as we put away everything light and bright and pull out all of our rich textures and hues. Toss
your summer makeup in a sealed container and store it with your shorts, tanks and flip flops. The shelf life of all of your powder cosmetics are
infinite and creams typically keep for up to two years.
Be rock’in and regal this fall with smoky eyes and jewel accents! Makeup fashion this season calls for the smoky eye accented with amethyst,
emerald or sapphire, sun-flushed cheeks and lips in a velvety matte texture in brown based plums, muted rose and yes….red! If you play up your
eyes with the smoky look, always mute your lips to avoid looking overly painted. Red is powerful and very ‘Old Hollywood Hot’ but try to keep your
eyes defined subtly with a neutral palette of brown or grey when you glam it up on your lips.
We all desire the ‘smoky eye’ that we see in magazines, but can we get it without looking like a raccoon? Finding your smoky eye is all about color
selection and balance. Keep your eyelid light and luminous so your eyes stay open and bright. Avoid putting dark eye shadow directly over lid, as
darkness recedes features and will make eyes look more deep set and smaller. Choose a crease color that meets your comfort level. Smoky does
not necessarily mean you have to use black shadow, when rich browns, plums and grey allow every woman to play up her eyes successfully.
Keep your eyes defined yet alive with charcoal liner that has a slight plum or green undertone to dazzle your eyes. Vibrant shimmer shadows in
jewels tones make a nice smoky color accent when smoothed directly over eyeliner to brighten your eyes.
Above all, fall is a time to wear more makeup and really ‘girly up’. As your skin tone fades from summer sun and clothing colors get deeper, you
need to bring your beautiful face into balance. So, dip into your makeup bag and make a little extra time to celebrate this rock’in and regal
season!
