The Applaud Women publication is dedicated to women in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. It's purpose is to inspire, inform, and
applaud local women. The core of the magazine is our inspirational women's articles, most of which feature local women but occasionally we are
able to interview national women who we feel provide a unique inspiration for our readers. Our other articles cover topics of interest such as food
recipes, home, garden, beauty, health, fashion, dating, parenting, seniors, finance, business, hair care, skin care, advice, real estate, insurance,
weddings etc. Each issue has a feature section as well. Many of our articles are written by local business people who provide information
relevant to their business expertise. The Applaud Women website is also a resource center for local women including the most comprehensive
listings of Restaurants, Weddings, Female doctors and Hotels. It also includes a number of informational pages with links, articles and RSS feeds

There’s something to be said for the courage to pursue one’s dreams or goals in a time of economic strife and
overall uncertainty. To be a woman and display such courage in what is still very much a man’s world deserves
even further recognition.

Maureen Campaiola runs a life coach business for women called “Dare to be Phenomenal” where she proves every
day that your dreams and goals are legitimate and within reach with the right mindset and tools. With an undergrad
degree in business management, a bachelors degree from Coach University and a masters in systems
management from Ana Maria College, she is extremely well educated in the realm of business. She has always felt
connected to coaching people, and while trying other things, such as running a cleaning company and various
other businesses, Maureen found that her happiest moments were helping people make their dreams a reality.
“When I was a child my mother said I was going to be a nurse because I always had it in me to help. Growing up in
the 1960’s there were two options for women: become a teacher or a nurse, and I knew I could never be a teacher.
So I went to nursing school, worked my way through as an aid to the elderly and loved every minute of my job.”
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Maureen listened and learned from the elderly as they told of their life
experiences and lessons learned over the years. Although she stepped away from nursing, this experience was at
the root of future business decisions and endeavors and further instilled the want to help others in any capacity
possible.

In no way did Maureen fall into her career as a coach and the thriving business she has built. It took time and faith
in her passion to help others succeed, and to others just starting out she says, “I struggled for a long time and it
wasn’t until I hired my own coach did things really take off. The reality is most successful people have coaches;
someone who can show you all your choices and options so you can give yourself the best start possible.” With the
support from both her wonderful daughter Carrie (27), her mother (83), and an amazing group of friends with whom
she could always get feedback, she was able to get back to what she loves and do so from a successful standpoint.

At “Dare to be Phenomenal” Maureen helps people really connect with their clients, balance all the demands of
being a business owner, interpret and understand marketing strategies, as well as find what specific things work
best for an individual’s business and location. In addition, she stresses the importance of connecting with the
business community around you, not only to develop strong working relationships but to get an idea of what works
and what does not. Most importantly, she wants her clients to see that they can get what they want out of their
business, including personal time, money and a big boost in self confidence.

options offered: Business Consulting, Individual, and Group Program. The Business Consulting service is where
Maureen will work with your whole team to turn your business around. In the process she will work with each
individual, encouraging the talent each person can bring to the table and increase the positive energy in the group.
Furthermore, the communication between clientele and staff as well as among the staff members themselves will be
taken to a whole new level where the only result will be a more successful and well rounded business that everyone
enjoys. With the Individual and Group Program, you are assigned to a group of other entrepreneurs or business
owners and have constant feedback and listen to different perspectives which enable you to take a new look at how
you are going about operating your business. In addition, you receive support from a whole network of business
owners who will not only keep you on track with your goals but enable you to get word out at the same time as to
what kind of business you are running. The group involvement is a two hour conference call every month and then
a personal call with Maureen for thirty minutes every month. Furthermore, there is always email support available
where Maureen will readily respond to all questions and concerns as well as phone contact by calling the office at

In addition to the services offered via the website, Maureen began a networking program in which women can get
together and have “unique partnerships” sharing their experiences and giving advice in a safe environment. This
idea of networking had been in the works for a long time, says Maureen – she had “always wanted to run a women’s
only group” but it wasn’t until March of 2009 that she “woke up and decided to make it a reality.” After getting the
word out, in April of 2009 the first meeting was held and fourteen women attended where “everyone had a great
time, perhaps getting even more out of it than was expected.” Soon it was decided to hold a meeting one night
every month and at the next meeting, thirty-two women attended, while the following meeting had over seventy
attend Today, the women meet twice a month with one ‘lunch-in’ and one evening program and there are four
hundred and sixty members. The evening program includes a short twenty-minute presentation in which a pressing
issue is discussed or helpful hints are shared and demonstrated. In December the first extravaganza was held in
which three hundred and ninety tickets were sold. This offered exposure for all the members and their businesses
as well as a visual representation of all the hard work they had been doing, proving to everyone involved that this
program works. “Women come and have an amazing experience, life changing, and they go and tell their friends
and they theirs and so on. You are guaranteed to walk out with something of value that you can put into action right
