The Applaud Women publication is dedicated to women in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. It's purpose is to inspire, inform, and
applaud local women. The core of the magazine is our inspirational women's articles, most of which feature local women but occasionally we
are able to interview national women who we feel provide a unique inspiration for our readers. Our other articles cover topics of interest such
as food recipes, home, garden, beauty, health, fashion, dating, parenting, seniors, finance, business, hair care, skin care, advice, real estate,
insurance, weddings etc. Each issue has a feature section as well. Many of our articles are written by local business people who provide
information relevant to their business expertise. The Applaud Women website is also a resource center for local women including the most
comprehensive listings of Restaurants, Weddings, Female doctors and Hotels. It also includes a number of informational pages with links,

Amesbury - Community Event. Sunday, July 4, 2010. Fireworks!! Bring
your blanket (and some bug spray), and enjoy one of the finest fireworks
displays in the area. (Please note: Due to the large crowds, we
recommend that you arrive early to ensure that you find a parking space.

Bedford - The Town of Bedford, together with the Veteran’s
Administration Hospital, will be hosting an evening of food, entertainment
and fireworks on Friday, July 2nd! The fun and festivity will be held at the
Veteran’s Administration Hospital grounds on Springs Road. Come early
and enjoy the Porch Rockers as they celebrate the 4th with blues,
country and roots music in the tradition of Muddy Waters, Hank Williams,
B.B. King, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton! Please note that
this concert will precede the Town of Bedford fireworks. The inclement
weather date for the fireworks and the Porch Rockers concert will be July
3. Please check our website for further details and updates as they
become available.
Chelmsford - The next Independence Day Parade will take place at
10am on Monday July 5th, 2010! Country Fair - Sunday, July 4th, 5:00 -
11:00 PM and Monday, July 5th, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Town
Commons. There will be no Fireworks.
Haverhill – Saturday, July 3, at 9:00pm at the Haverhill Stadium.
Hamilton – Will be joining with Wenham to celebrate the 4th on July 4th
with festivities starting at 12-3: at the Community Health at Patton Park in
Hamilton, A concert will take place from 3:00 – 5:00. No Fireworks.
Ipswich – Parade will take place at 8:30 at the Winthrope School.
Celebrations and games for both kids and adults will follow.

Lois Lane & the Daily Planets at Red Rock Park. Lynn Shore Drive and
surrounding streets will Close at 7:30PM and remain closed until after the

Rowley - Rowley Celebrates Independence Day on Saturday, July 3,
2010. Come join with your friends and neighbors for a fun-filled
celebration. Children’s Parade – 8:30 a.m. bike and baby carriage
parade beginning at the VFW parking lot on Bradford Street and ending
on the Town Common. Decorated bids will b judged and prizes award for
various categories. Games and Races – 9:00 a.m. on the Town Common
for all ages – relay races, sack races, wheel barrel races, three-legged
races. Every child will leave home with something, whether it’s a medal
for participation or a gold, silver or half-dollar for first, second or third
prize. Live band on the Town Common Gazebo from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.
m. Please bring a picnic lunch and blankets or chairs to sit on while
listening to the tunes of The Dick Kaplan Band. Hot dogs, chips, water,
coffee and Richie’s Italian Ice will be available at no cost while supplies

Salem - CELEBRATE THE FOURTH, Date: Sunday, July 4, Time: 4 to 10
p.m. Place: Derby Wharf Opening ceremonies at the Salem Maritime
Historic Site on Derby Wharf begin at 7:15 p.m. with a U.S. Air Force
military flyover, followed by a two-hour Pops concert by the Hillyer
Festival Orchestra, a 40-piece ensemble with vocal soloists performing
opera to Broadway favorites, and a magnificent fireworks display
launched from Derby Wharf after dark. Other festivities begin at 4 p.m.
with the opening of Kids’ Space, an area with music provided by a local
deejay who will entertain youngsters with dances, contests and prizes.
Food booths will open at 4 p.m. and free children’s activities, including
face painting, games and crafts, will take place all afternoon. At 5 p.m.,
pre-concert entertainment on the main stage will begin. Call City Hall at

Alton – July 3. 9:20 p.m., Fireworks will be launched off of the barge in
Lake Winnipesaukee. Parking is available in the Alton Bay public parking
lot and along Rte. 11 in Alton Bay. Boat parking to watch the show from
the lake will be available south of Shibley's Restaurant and north of the
channel markers going into Back Bay.
Amherst- The Amherst July 4th celebration is scheduled to begin the
evening of Friday, July 3rd, with the parade to follow on Saturday the 4th,
as always. The theme chosen by the Fourth of July Committee this year
is “Celebrating Our New Hampshire Heritage.” Events will include
fireworks at the High school on the 3rd and the parade Friday morning in
the village , with bands, floats, antique cars, the Wheelmen, the Mini-
Kars, and much more. The political part of the parade is expected to
feature local and state candidates. After the parade get a hot dog,
burger, or slice of pizza; examine the interesting booths on the green.
Then examine the artwork displayed by more than 35 New Hampshire
artists at the art show on the green.
Andover – July 4, The village green will be a daylong gathering spot with
food vendors, flea markets and artisan stands. There will be a concert on
the green in the afternoon, tours of the old railroad depot that now
houses the local historical society and the “Firecracker 5,” a five
kilometer race to help burn off those excess calories from the hot dogs,
hamburgers and strawberry shortcake. An ice cream social leads up to
the evening’s fireworks display.
Bradford - Independence Day Fair - July 3 - First Baptist Church of
Bradford, 88 Main Street. Fair will feature a handmade quilt raffle, silent
auction, many outside vendors, coffee, donuts and baked goods, "Kids
Fun Run", children's activities, family and musical entertainment including
the "Kearsarge Community Band", family scavenger hunt, luncheon,
huge barn sale and more. In conjunction with Bradford's all day
Independence Day celebration.
Bristol: July 3,10 a.m., Fourth of July parade
Center Harbor: July 4, dusk, over Center Harbor Bay.
Colebrook: July 3, dusk, in the ball field.
Concord: July 4, dusk, Memorial Field. $2 donation collected at gate.
There will be vendors and live music beginning at 5:30 p.m. Rain date,

Derry: July 4, dusk. Best viewing areas are along Tsienneto Road, Hood
Commons, Folsom Road, and Crystal Avenue. Rain date, July 5.
Gorham - A weekend-long celebration on the Town Common -
Celebration of our great country with a midway carnival, fantastic live
music, a chili and chowder cook-off, horseshoe tournament, a duck race,
parades, classic car show, and fireworks. Lots of fun for the entire family
from June 30th through July 4th!
Hampton Beach: July 4, 9:30 p.m., a spectacular shoot!
Hopkinton - The Hopkinton Recreation Department is pleased to
announce that this year’s July 4th Family Fun Day is packed full of fun
games, great food and wonderful entertainment! The event will be at
Houston Park from 12:30 – 3:30pm on July 4th, following the kid’s parade
at 11:30am and the Independence Day Parade at 12noon. This year we
will see the professional “Johhny the K” family entertainer with his
hundreds of hats, balloon animals, face painting, dunking booth, kids
games, pie eating contest, lots of great food and much more! The
“Tooky Cookie Bakeoff” will be back so get your secret recipe out! A 5K
fun run will start at 9am from the American Legion lot. We are still
looking for volunteers to help out with this great community event.
Volunteer meetings are Wednesdays June 2, 16 and 30 at 6pm at the

Laconia: July 4, 9:30 p.m., downtown, fireworks from the upper level of
the parking garage.
Lebanon: July 4, 5-10 p.m., Colburn Park/Storrs Hill Ski Area. Lebanon
& the Upper Valley have been enjoying this annual event for over 10
years! Fireworks, food, entertainment, and friends combine to make this
an event not to be missed. PLUS Art Show and Sale!
Lincoln/Woodstock: - July 4 - Fourth of July Celebration starts off with
Family Games at the Kancamagus Recreation Area. Make sure to arrive
on time as the games begin promptly at 10 a.m. and are immediately
followed by a BBQ lunch that you won't want to miss out on. At 2 p.m.
there will be a Patriotic Parade starting in N. Woodstock and continuing
on Rt. 112 through Lincoln. Free concert at 7 p.m. by the St. Johnsbury
Band at Woodstock Common followed by fireworks in Lincoln on Main
Street at dusk.
Manchester: July 3, dusk, Arms Park. The park will close to vehicular
traffic at 6 p.m. Food and beverage vendors will be available on site or
bring your own. There will be no alcohol allowed. Entertainment will be
provided by the 39th Army Band beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m.
and will play into the beginning of the fireworks. The fireworks display is
provided by Atlas Advanced Pyrotechnics. No pets please. Admission is
free. The eastbound expanse of the (Bridge Street) bridge will be closed
to all traffic (pedestrian and motor vehicle) from 8 a.m. to the end of the
event. The westbound expanse will be similarly closed at 10 a.m. Rain
date (fireworks only) will be Monday, July 5.
Meredith: July 4, dusk, over Meredith Bay
Moultonborough: July 4, Parade, downtown
New Boston – July 4, The day begins with breakfast at the Community
Church, followed by a parade of antique cars and trucks, fire engines
from neighboring towns, a horse-drawn hand-pump engine and the
Governor’s Horse Guard. Locally-produced floats will reflect this year’s
theme, celebrating characters and scenes found in children’s stories.
(Harry Potter will no doubt be there.) Fun and games at the 4-H Youth
Center include a mud volleyball tournament, horse pulling and even lawn-
tractor pulling contests. A fiddlers contest for musicians of all ages is part
of the entertainment leading up to the evening’s bonfire and fireworks
display.
Ossipee - July 4, Community Fair - 11:30 a.m., downtown parade, giant
yard sale, crafts, pony rides, children's games, horseshow pitching,
Citizen of the Year award, food and more!
Pittsburg: dusk, Murphy Dam. Come check out the flea market, crafters
and artists. Visit with some friends, and let the kids enjoy a pony ride.
The Kids Fishing Derby is held at the Kids Pond. Watch a ballgame in the
afternoon, and enjoy a BBQ and live music.
Portsmouth – July 3, 9:15 p.m., South Mill Pond, located across from
City Hall. There will be a DJ beginning at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks
display starts at 9:15 pm. The rain date is Sunday, July 5. Police want to
remind everyone that City Ordinance prohibits personal fireworks,
including Class C sparklers. Sunday, Jul. 4An American Celebration, ,
noon to 5 p.m.Strawbery Banke - Celebrate four centuries of American
history with a real old-fashioned fabulous 4th of July! Complete with a
children's decorated bike and wagon parade, traditional games and
crafts for all ages, demonstratons of barrel making, 18th century hearth
cooking demonstrations, revolutionary and civil war re-enactors, a 1940s
candy counter, spinning & weaving demonstrations, giant kite flying,
historic garden tours, live music, living history exhibits, food and fun for

Rochester: - "Night Before the Fouth" - The Journey Church will host
the "Night before the 4th" Fireworks display in Rochester. Rochester Fair
Grounds. Held in association with the Rochester Fair Association. Gates
will open at 1 p.m. The day will host a variety of exhibit areas, food
vendors, arts & crafts, games, live entertainment. Opening Ceremonies,
at 7 p.m., will include many patriot organizations, and if weather permits a
parachute jump by Skydive New England. The fireworks should begin at
9:30 p.m. Admission to the event is free, however, we are asking for non-
perishable food as donation to the local food pantry.
Rye: July 4, dusk, Parson's Field. Weather permitting, no rain date. Prior
to the fireworks at 7 p.m., the band Karrie and the Rockfish will perform.
Waterville Valley - Fourth of July fun sponsored by the Recreation
Department but happening in Town Square - games, T-shirt tie-dying,
100' obstacle course, Fireman's BBQ, bounce house, live music, dunk
tank, and more. Also, a free evening concert in Town Square. Schedule
subject to change.
Weare - Jul 16 – 18 2010, Town Green, 1436 S. Stark Hwy (map)
DescriptionFriday night will include the opening of the carnival, and the
Weare farmer’s market will be open, beginning at 3 p.m. -6pm. Saturday
July 17, will feature the parade with fireworks in the evening. Additional
details will be available by early summer.

Windham: July 3, dusk, fireworks will be released from Windham High
School. Plenty of parking and lots of great viewing areas!
Wolfeboro: July 4, 9:30 p.m., fireworks at dusk over Wolfeboro Bay.

Woodsville NH, Wells River, VT. 4th of July Celebration is one of the
largest in Northern New England. The parade route crosses from New
Hampshire to Vermont, and is almost two miles long. The celebration
continues on Woodsville’s Community Field with an entire day of activities
for young and old alike. We offer rides, games, food, critter chip bingo,
and regular bingo, and a variety of music is played throughout the day.
The festivities conclude with a huge fireworks display at 10:00 pm
followed by more music and dancing. It’s just plain fun for the entire
family!
