Exhibits -
Dino Detective
Become a paleontologist! Don a lab coat and goggles and dig for a Triceratops fossil. Take part in the scientific process as you compare
the jaws, claws and vertebrae of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. How big were these dinosaurs? Measure your thigh against life-size replica femurs
to get an idea. Examine the teeth and claws of other dinosaurs and listen to audio information phones to complete your scientific
investigation.
Kaleidoscopic
Explore the fascinating phenomena of reflection and symmetry in the museum’s one-of-a-kind Kaleidoscopic exhibit.
Duck into the amazing human-sized kaleidoscope and see yourself reflected over and over, stretching in every direction.
Continue exploring this area by gazing into hand-held kaleidoscopes and teleidoscopes, then create your own symmetrical design using
colorful magnets. Become a designer using the Kaleidodraw computer program to create an endless variety of symmetrical images.
Step Into a Story
Imagine walking into the pages of a giant picture book and having it spring to life around you – that’s the experience
you will enjoy in the Step Into a Story exhibit. Come in and become a part of The Cats of Mrs. Calamari by John Stadler.
Jump up onto the big green couch with a giant mouse, or put costumes on the cats who play starring roles in the story. There is even a
place to sit and read the book, then compose your own ending on a large magnetic board nearby. This exhibit’s many interactive
components will get everyone excited about reading!
