Tasty Travels - Rick’s At Pond View, By Our Roving Restaurant Reviewer
As a resident of Rockingham County I have always been intrigued by the history behind the Pond View Restaurant so I was anxious to see
new owner Rick Korn’s interpretation of the historic culinary retreat. Rick’s Pond View is located in Kingston, New Hampshire along Route
#125. The restaurant can be described as a complex of intimate dining sections with romantic views of the pond for which it is named. We
were seated at the highly desired windowed tables in the main dining area, which made for a good choice for date night with hubby.
The appetizers on the menu ranged from $7-$15 .We chose the fresh tequila roasted mussels topped with a garlic toast. The mussels were
fresh and yummy with a tangy spicy cilantro and diced tomato broth. We also tried the scallops wrapped in bacon, which had a flavorful
lemon butter dressing. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable of not only the dinner menu but also the wine list and drink menu. I was
excited to hear that the restaurant carried imported beer, Stella Artois, on tap.
For our entrée we headed the suggestion from our very knowledgeable waitress Selina, and I ordered the Continental On
Silver. This house favorite includes two baked stuffed shrimp, baked stuffed haddock, and broiled scallops topped with fresh lobster meat
and smothered in a rich lobster reduction sauce. The delicious entrée was complimented with a flaky rice pilaf combined with sautéed corn
and roasted red peppers. My husband enjoyed the baked stuffed haddock, which also featured the every so rich lobster reduction sauce.
The entrees ranged in price from $15-$35. The finale of our dining experience included a mini cheesecake dessert made in house by the
chef Phil Carolyn.

Chef combines mini size portions from a trio of homemade cheesecakes along chocolate mousse-all drizzled with chocolate and raspberry
syrups.

We were fortunate to get a tour of the newly renovated celebrity lounge by new manager Greg. We highly suggest the celebrity lounge for a
more casual atmosphere. The bar serves as a great gathering place with an extensive top shelf drink menu and several hi definition
televisions as the backdrop.
